Ho passato qualche ora a creare un buono script che automatizza tutto. Tale script scarica ed installa automaticamente la versione 5.0r5 di MySql Gui Tools. È testato per funzionare su Ubuntu 8.04, ma è adattabile.

Avere a disposizione un server di sviluppo piuttosto che dover avere tutto sul proprio pc piuttosto che sul portatile può essere molto comodo specialmente quando a dover lavorare sui progetti non siete solo voi. Anche parlando di sicurezza e quindi di backup dei dati avere una macchina dedicata allo sviluppo offre discreti vantaggi. Vediamo quindi come Ubuntu 8.04 Server Edition può essere usata come base per un server di sviluppo dedicato a symfony.

This tutorial shows how to set up a two-node Apache web server cluster that provides high-availability. In front of the Apache cluster we create a load balancer that splits up incoming requests between the two Apache nodes. Because we do not want the load balancer to become another "Single Point Of Failure", we must provide high-availability for the load balancer, too. Therefore our load balancer will in fact consist out of two load balancer nodes that monitor each other using heartbeat, and if one load balancer fails, the other takes over silently.
