In questi giorni, a Portland, in Oregon, si sta svolgendo l'OSCON 2008 (O’Reilly Open Source Convention), l'annuale conferenza, organizzata da O'Reilly, dedicata all'Open Spurce. Quest'anno, l'attenzione si è concentrata particolarmente sulla presenza di Linux sui dispositivi portatili. Ieri, Dirk Hohndel della Intel ha parlato dei Mid e dei netbook basati su Atom ed ha chiarito alcuni punti sul progetto Moblin e su Moblin 2.0.

Vi ricordate di UNetbootin? Ve ne ho parlato, qualche mese fa, in questo articolo. Da allora però le cose sono veramente cambiate. UNetbootin è un prodotto molto interessante, che ci permette di installare le principali distribuzioni Gnu/Linux, su di una partizione reale (proprio come un installazione normale), senza bisogno di CD. È disponibile sia per Windows che per Linux. All’epoca del primo articolo, il progetto era molto giovane e semi-sconosciuto.
