Rilasciato Google Gadget for Linux. Installiamolo su Ubuntu e Kubuntu

L’impegno di Google, nel portare le sue principali applicazioni su Linux continua. Dopo Google Desktop, Picasa e Google Earth, pochi giorni fa è stata rilasciata anche la versione Gnu/Linux di Google Gadgets. Googler Gadget for Linux fornisce una piattaforma Open Source per i desktop gadget, sia quelli sviluppati per la versione Windows di Google Desktop che gli Universal Gadgets di iGoogle. In realtà un modo per tenere i Google Gadgets su Linux, l’avevamo già visto in questo articolo, grazie a Screenlets. Oggi vedremo come installare Google Gadget for Linux, su Ubuntu e Kubuntu.

“Google Earth ti consente di sorvolare tutta la terra per osservare immagini satellitari, mappe, terreni, edifici 3D e per esplorare persino le galassie celesti. Puoi andare alla scoperta di infiniti luoghi geografici, salvare le località visitate e condividerle con altri utenti.” Così Google ci presenta il suo famosissimo software. Oggi voglio parlarvi di come installare la versione Linux con un semplice comando.

Non potevano mancare i repositories medibuntu per la prossima versione di ubuntu 8.04Medibuntu (Multimedia, Entertainment & Distractions In Ubuntu) è un repository di pacchetti che non possono essere inclusi nella distribuzione Ubuntu per motivi legali. Per darvi un’ideadi cosa trovate dentro vi cito i w32codecs (i codec per win), Skype già impacchettato, oppure Google Earth.

Google earth is a world map viewer. It can show 3D buildings and bridges in 3D view. It shows satellite pictures by default. The latest version also includes sky viewer. Google Earth ha pubblicato il suo primo aggiornamento di foto satellitari del 2008. Ora nuove zone sono visibile a buona definizione. In particolare, questo aggiornamento ha interessato molte zone della Spagna dell’Est, tra cui anche la città di Barcellona.

Released new Linux versions of Skype and Google Earth. Finally, in Skype 2.0, not only we could use the audio and chat features but also the video option using our favorite webcam also in the Linux version. The new Google Earth 4.2 has been implemented with new options as Clouds, Radar, Conditions & Forecast and Information.
