Burn.app is a GNUstep based CD burning program for GNU/Linux. It serves as front-end for Jörg Schilling's cdrtools, cdrdao, and cdparanoia. L’impegno di Google, nel portare le sue principali applicazioni su Linux continua. Dopo Google Desktop, Picasa e Google Earth, pochi giorni fa è stata rilasciata anche la versione Gnu/Linux di Google Gadgets. Googler Gadget for Linux fornisce una piattaforma Open Source per i desktop gadget, sia quelli sviluppati per la versione Windows di Google Desktop che gli Universal Gadgets di iGoogle. In realtà un modo per tenere i Google Gadgets su Linux, l’avevamo già visto in questo articolo, grazie a Screenlets. Oggi vedremo come installare Google Gadget for Linux, su Ubuntu e Kubuntu.

Nell’ultimo periodo ho parlato Mozilla Prism e di Adobe AIR, due ottime applicazioni per avere sul nostro desktop le principali applicazioni web. Quando però dicevo ’sul nostro desktop’, non lo intendevo in senso letterale. Oggi voglio invece spiegarvi come tenere i Google gadgets e alcune web apps, come widgets, sulla nostra scrivania. Per prima cosa bisogna installare il programma che ci permette di compiere l’operazione e cioè Sreenlets 0.1, scaricabile da Getdeb, già pacchettizzato per Ubuntu.
