OpenID: Open Doesn't Always Mean Good Citizenship!
Rebuttal: The sourceforge.net website has announced "we’ve joined the OpenID Foundation!", (OpenID and Good Citizenship http://www.linux.com/feed/134676 ), claiming that they were compelled to do so by specific request(s) of their user community. This may well be true, but do these users really know all of the various pitfalls of this type of user authentication?
Opponents of OpenID say it enables massive user tracking, profiling, phishing and identity theft, while offering no more (even less) convenience than the very useful password wallets available today. Potential users should have the facts regarding the pros and cons of OpenID. This article (link below) is a good place to start.
